The history of the chameleon and his Tongue Joy

This is the story of a girl whose life had lost its color. Her name was Antoinette.

Nothing took her out of her terrible pessimism … It was a life in black and white.
One day he met a chameleon who was a nice, cheerful and talkative guy… When he approached, he began a non-stop  talk … He spoke and spoke. Beautiful things, positive things.
“Shaggy,” she thought.. But from the mouth of the chameleon, only beautiful words came out.
Antoineta was so negative that even her tongue had lost its color. The pretty words were gradually gone: love, kisses, thank you, please, cute, I love you … And thet were replaced by others: bored, sad, ugly … And so much was faded her words that even her tongue has lost its color.  

 Have you seen what color your tongue is? … Look at them, what color are they? Pinkish? Well, Antonieta’s has a grayish color, faded like the words she used. And he used them so much that not only his tongue, but his life was losing color.

Until she found the chameleon …
At first she just saw an ugly, bent and gray crooked.
“How ugly you are” – was the first thing she said. But you, girl, you are very pretty- he told her. But also I think you must be a good girl, generous, nice, sweet, tender …
“No,” she said. I’m ugly and I feel sad … And you … I do not like you. And she stuck out his tongue. That gray tongue …
The chameleon looked at her curiously and replied,
“You say that because you have not discovered the wonderful, sweet, charming, smiling and funny girl you have inside.
“I said no,” she replied. I can be selfish and presumed.
“But you can be the opposite, too,” he replied.
Then she thought for a moment … Nice? She asked. And being the first beautiful word that she said in a long time, she was surprised to see that the tail of the chameleon took a green tone, lovely? And the chameleon’s body turned red, funny? The colors turned orange, cute? intelligent? And suddenly he saw in the chameleon a multicolored party.

For every beautiful word the chameleon was taking on a new color and she, surprised, could not prevent a smile …
“… Your colors are cute,” she said at last.
“That’s because I always see the nice side of things,” he replied. Show me your tongue now, he asked. But feeling surprised, shy and also ashamed of his discolored tongue, she  refused.
-What do you like the most in the world? He insisted …
“I like your colors,” she said shyly, “but I also like that you’re nice, cheerful and funny.
“Show me your tongue,” chameleon insisted.
She, shy, was taking it out a little and when she looked in the mirror she could see that it was no longer gray, but pinkish and pretty.
“Every time you say nice words, your tongue will turn pink, of life.
Look at mine. Chameleons we have the longest tongues of all animals compared to our size and as I only know how to say nice things my tongue …
And then he began to stretch a huge tongue that was a little red, a little yellow, a little brown, a little green, a little white, and a little violet.
This is the language of good words, of joy, he said. If someday you find me out there turned into a green box, take my tongue and eat it because every taste will be the memory of the words that always leave my mouth and a sample of the wonderful, beautiful, fascinating, charming, fantastic, sweet, Tender and unforgettable that you are, my dear Antoineta.

Antonieta surprised, of course, could not help but smile at the discovery. Since then he sees the world of many colors, she finds the good side in everything and every time she finds a box of chameleon full of fruit, she pulls his tongue and between bite and bite recalled smiling the most beautiful words he knows: beautiful, intelligent , Wonderful, capable, creative, fascinating, sweet …
